Family fun at FunFam Sportfest 2023
What’s better than spending a weekend with your family? Having a family-fun sporting weekend! That’s exactly what hundreds of children and their parents did at the recently concluded FunFam Sportfest.
Despite the wet weather on the weekend of 27 and 28 May, smiles could be seen all around OCBC Arena as parents and children participated in various sport activities organised by ActiveSG Academies & Clubs.
On Saturday, pre-schoolers from M.Y. World got to learn and practice fundamental movement skills with the help of coaches from My First Coach. The pre-schoolers also had the opportunity to try-out different sports such as football, basketball, badminton and swimming.
The following Sunday was filled with boundless energy, shared experiences and the pure delight of seeing parents and children enjoying the thrill of sports together.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr. Eric Chua was also present at the event, engaging parents and children. In his short remarks to event participants, SPS Eric Chua exhorts the value of sport to children given its ability to “impart valuable life lessons and good values to our children, such as sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience.”
This event is the first of two FunFam SportFest organised by Active Parents in conjunction with the school holidays. If you missed this first edition, be sure to catch the next run of FunFam Sportfest in December 2023. Visit Active Parents Page to get updated of event details.
