School Holiday Programme
The AAC School holiday program (SHP) is held at every termly school break. This program is developed by World Athletics that teaches fundamental movement skills (FMS) and promotes physical literacy. The track and field-inspired games led by our coach, who specialized in FMS will expose children to more significant opportunities to develop fundamental movement skills of running, jumping, and throwing. Children will enjoy their time and benefit from a safe, organised and purposeful environment. There will be structured play promoting teamwork and providing opportunities for skill development and personal growth. The program will allow children to thrive, learn, and discover their potential while having an absolute blast. There are two types of AAC SHP for selection:
- 1 session X 2 hours program
- 3 sessions X 1.5 hours session each

75 mins | Run, Jump & Throw (25 mins per station, including water breaks) Set up 3 stations. There are 2 level of challenges for the kids to learn and experience. The 2 challenges are of age and ability appropriate and would require the kids to work in pairs/team. | Variation of run, jump and throw challenges. Incorporation of games in teams for fun elements and promote the value of teamwork etc. To promote the socio-emotional competencies and further their athletics' skills. |
10 mins | Cool down | Inculcate the importance of cool down. Provide ownership to allow kids who have experience in stretches to show/lead some of the stretches with the Coach's guidance. |
10 mins | Sharing on health and /or social competencies | To share the knowledge on the importance of a healthy lifestyle from a young age and what constitutes a healthy lifestyle and the importance of values driven athlete (one with good character) |
10 mins | Health talk and sharing | To allow sharing circle for kids to share what they learn for the session and/or for the Coach to acknowledge the kids' effort and their experiences. |

The 2 challenges are age and ability-appropriate and would require the kids to work in pairs/teams to promote the socio-emotional competencies and further their athletics skills. | Variation of run, jump and throw challenges. Incorporation of games in teams for fun elements and promote the value of teamwork etc. *For session 3, there will be a finale challenge for each discipline to encourage the kids and provide opportunity to experience a simplified yet fun 'kids' event. Kids are to attempt each station and provide multiple attempts to encourage participation and challenge themselves to do better after each attempt. |
