About YouthCreates

YouthCreates is a movement by SportSG to build a fun and vibrant youth sporting community together. Its mission is to use sport to empower youth today to take action and create positive change. YouthCreates also provides youth with opportunities to stay physically active, socially connected, and simply live better through sport.

This GetActive!, YouthCreates is hosting skateboarding events for the 3rd year running! Ramp it Up is making its comeback for all you competitive skaters, and we are also bringing back our very popular Shredder Series for all who want to learn the basics of skateboarding. In conjunction with GetActive! Singapore 2023, we proudly present the 3rd Edition of YouthCreates Ramp It Up Skateboarding MiniRamp Competition!

In partnership with Millennial Events, this MiniRamp Competition will give skaters the opportunity to challenge themselves in the new and exciting competition format. There would be street art adorning the ramp, while an expanded grandstand awaits, promising a bigger and better viewing experience! With a $12,000 prize fund, do come and try out one of Singapore's best mini ramps at 1.8m high!

Competition Format

The 3rd Edition of Youthcreates Ramp It Up Challenge will showcase a competition format that is authentic, captivating and engaging!

A brand-new mini ramp will be built specifically for the event for skaters to enjoy a new format of Open Contest. It welcomes various age groups as well as new additions of women categories. That's not all, there will be specifically selected judges and announcers to bring in crowd-pleasing energy to the event, so stay tuned and be prepared!

Each contest will have TWO ROUNDS of competition:

1st round: A qualifiers competition to select the Top 8 Finalists

It will run from 10:00 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Each category will run 5/6 person heats
Each heat will have 10 min practice
The entries will be judged on 2 x 45-60 seconds runs, for tricks creativity, difficulty and execution.

2nd round: A head-to-head knockout between the Top 8 Finalists

It will run from 10:00 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Each match will have 5 min practice

The top 8 Finalist will have to draw straws for matchups for a head-to-head game of S-K-A-T-E

Age Groups

The minimum age for entries is 7 (Born before 6th August 2016)
U12 - Born between 6th August 2011 and 6th August 2016
U18 - Born before 6th August 2005
Open/Pro - Open to all ages
Legends (35 and over) - Born before 6th August 1988

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is there an age requirement/limit?

Everyone from the age of 7 and above (Born in 2017 or earlier) is able to participate.

Can I compete with my Longboard or Pennyboard?

No, the skateboarding miniramp challenge is solely for skateboarding.

Can I take part in more than 1 category?

Depending on the total number of registered participants, you may be able to take part in more than 1 category. If you would like to, please register as normal, then email us at YouthCreates@sport.gov.sg to let us know the other category you would like to compete in.
