Celebrating National Day through Sport: Sport Singapore Works with Team Nila for GetActive! Singapore 2024

In a world where the fast pace of modern life often overshadows community spirit, the essence of volunteerism shines brightly through the dedicated efforts of those committed to bringing people together. 

At the forefront of this movement is Team Nila, Sport Singapore’s volunteering arm united by the cause of sport volunteerism. One of the most compelling aspects of Team Nila’s work is how they seamlessly integrate sport with community engagement, particularly during GetActive! Singapore, the annual sports festival that concluded last weekend.

Stefanie Ang, Division Head of Team Nila, shared, “At Team Nila, we view sport as more than just a game. It’s a platform for bringing people together and driving positive change. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but we unite under a common goal. It’s not just about giving our time, it’s about working toward a shared vision of giving back to the sports community.”

Lena Ong, a dedicated Team Nila volunteer, shared her experience: “Volunteering with Team Nila has greatly enriched my life! Contributing to my passion for sports is rewarding, and learning from fellow volunteers who have become friends is enlightening as I participate in the nation's month-long annual sports festival.”

The staff at Sport Singapore also went above and beyond to ensure the success of the festival, showcasing their unwavering commitment to community and sport. Their tireless efforts and enthusiasm played a crucial role in making GetActive! Singapore 2024 a memorable celebration!

Our Active Health coaches played a vital role at various events, such as the Seniors’ Sports Day, fully engaging with the seniors and guiding them through exercises tailored to promote health and well-being. Their dedication not only encouraged active participation but also fostered a sense of empowerment among the elderly participants.

As we draw the curtains on GetActive!
