A total of 7 teams are currently competing in the A Division Girls' Softball competition of the 2023 National School Games (NSG), which tipped off on 26 April. The 7 teams are playing in a round-robin format, which means each side will face 6 opponents in the prelim round. Meanwhile, 2 weeks into the campaign and Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) took on River Valley High School (RVHS) on their campus grounds. The ACSians sustained opening losses to Dunman High School and Raffles Institution before picking up their 1st win via a 7-0 victory over Hwa Chong Institution. As for River Valley, they won 1 of their opening 2 games and then played host to ACJC on 5 May. Final score : Anglo-Chinese JC 3-2 River Valley High School.
Following the win at River Valley, the ACSians pushed ahead with victories over National JC and Eunoia JC, to book their place in the quarter-finals. As for RVHS, they beat Hwa Chong Institution but lost 2-1 to Dunman High School. And on 12 May, they face Eunoia JC in a must-win clash in order to stand any chance of advancing to the next round.
