Just a day prior to the Boys' A Division Football final (19 May 2023) at the Jalan Besar Stadium, Victoria Junior College (VJC) Girls' team defeated Tampines Meridian JC 4-1, to clinch their 9th straight National School Games title. A day later though, more than 1,000 students from VJC and Saint Andrew's JC (SAJC), showed up at the same stadium to root for the teams competing in the Boys' finale. The Victorians were the defending champions. And even though their team captain missed the final due to suspension, the VJC squad battled hard and won the gold medal, courtesy of the winning goal on the hour mark by attacking midfielder, Garv Sahoo. The Saints were forced to settle for the silver medal and the loss to the same opponent and scoreline, as in the 2022 NSG final.
Meanwhile, for some of the colourful moments from the Boys' A Division gold medal match, catch the pictorial below, with special Thanks to Team Nila Content Producer, Michael Loh.
