NSG 2024 Canoeing: A & B Div Finals

In the National School Games Canoeing Championships 2024, a total of 50 events tested the mettle students from the A and B Divisions. From kayaks to canoes, our student athletes competed in individual, pairs, and team races. Through scorching sun and pouring rain, student supporters braved the elements to cheer on their beloved athletes. Here are some of our winners this year!




Hwa Chong Institution's (HCI) Chen Jiaxuan and Ryan Lee Ee Hong (in red) clinched 1st in A-Div Boys K2-1000m with an impressive time of 3:43.42.

Following behind in the A-Div Boys K2-1000m were Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)'s (ACS (I)) Daniel Wan Jit Chin and Matthew Cheam Chong Kai who secured third position with a timing of 3:54.95.

 

In the A-Div Girls K4-1000m finals, a showdown unfolded between HCI (in red vest) and Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC).

 


ACJC's strong showing by Ashlee Foo Rui En, Kelly Rei Chai Ting Wen, Kyra Lee-Ann Pereira, and Shivli Vinod Lal. They secured 2nd place with a time of 4:27.92 for the A-Div Girls K4-1000m event.

 

HCI's Loh Yan Ting, Rachel Kwek Xin Ru, Thalia Fiorella Chen and Verlynn De Silva clinched victory for the A-Div Girls K4-1000m with a time of 4:18.62.

 

Catholic Junior College's (CJC) Ang Xing May, Sabrina, Hailey Ng Yen Teng, Kayla How Yin Kay and Sng Hui Ru came in third with a time of 5:02.06 for the A-Div Girls K4-1000m final.

 


School supporters cheered on their teams with full force.



In the A-Girls K1-1000m finals, National Junior College's (NJC) Kayla Angelina Thesman emerged victorious with a time of 4:59.35.

 


St Joseph's Institution International's (SJI International) Min Yeo landed 2nd place in the A-Div Girls K1-1000m with a time of 5:02.59.

 

Braving the Elements! Despite the rain, supporters stood united.

 

In the A-Boys K1-1000m finals, ACS (I)'s Titus Ching Heen Lok crossed the finish line in first place with an impressive time of 4:03.43.

 

SJI's Koh Liang Jie Matthew secured 3rd place in A-Div Boys K1-1000m with a time of 4:17.82.

 

In the B-Girls K4-1000m final, Crescent Girls' School (CS) Ariel Loh Zhi Lin, Lee Jia Yun, Ng Rui Xuan Sherlene and Wang Jinrong Juliana pulled ahead, claiming victory with a time of 4:04.63.

 

HCI's Hayden Lam Hao En came in 1st in A-Div Boys C1-1000m with a time of 4:43.25.

 

SJI won A-Div Boys C2-1000m! Ang Jet Hong and Tan Ying Da Raphael secured 1st place with a time of 4:32.05.

Lim Yi Sheng Ethan and Ong Shan Ze Alvin from HCI came in 3rd at 4:43.29 for the A-Div Boys C2-1000m.

 

In the finals of the B-Boys K4-1000m, ACS (I)'s Brian Goh Chengyu, Joshua Prince, Matthew Declan Loo Cheng Yu and Wu Mingqian emerged victorious, dominated the competition with a time of 3:33.72.

 

In the A-Girls K2-1000m final, HCI's Freya Yan Xin Swallow and Runa Tan claimed the top spot with a stellar time of 4:23.33.

 

Capturing the thrilling moment of a photofinish, the A-Div Boys K4-1000m race showcased ACJC's Ashden Chua Tjie Yeang, Nathan Ong Tian En, Seah Nigel, and Yap Xiang Yue Marcus as they crossed the finish line with a remarkable time of 3:25.72.

 

Amidst the adrenaline-pumping races and intense competition, it's a day to remember for all student athletes.

 

The Heart of Support! The unwavering support of their friends and school mates fueled the athletes.

Supporters filled MacRitchie Reservoir for four days.

 

Their presence spoke volumes as they rallied behind our student athletes!
