The National School Games Cross Country united 1,127 students from all corners of the country for the annual race. This year marked a historic occasion as the event took place for the first time against the picturesque backdrop of the Singapore Sports Hub. Starting at Tanjong Rhu MRT, runners traversed the Passion Wave and Sheares Bridge section before finishing at OCBC Square.
Runners pushed themselves to their limits, determined to surpass their rivals and triumphantly cross the finish line. Spectators lined the course, their cheers echoing loudly as they supported their favorite runners every step of the way. As medals were awarded, the event showed the significant role of sports in bringing together, young students athletes across the nation.
Wang Xinran Sara from CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh), Lim Fang Ning Danielle from Dunman High School, and Deianira Jeffrey from Methodist Girls' School (Secondary) poised themselves at the starting line, calmly awaiting the signal to commence their race. Wang Xinran Sara finished 16th out of 218 competitors in the C Division Girls' race.
The runners pushed themselves hard despite the scorching sun beating down on them.
Amelia Grace Chiew from Cedar Girls' Secondary School (Tag 6044) paced herself and ultimately finished in 13th place.
The crowd supported their schoolmates with their cheers!
Following the commencement of the girls' race, Wong Chong Wen (Tag 5046) from Bukit Batok Secondary School eagerly awaited for his race to start.
Elisha Koh En Tong from Cedar Girls' Secondary School displayed remarkable stamina, crossing the finish line in 4th place for the C Division Girls race.
Subbu Rathinam Navaneesh (Tag 5044) representing Bukit Batok Secondary School, pushed himself tirelessly to cross the finish line.
Sung Yejun from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science charged across the finish line with a radiant smile and unyielding confidence, clinching 1st place in the B Division Boys race.
Celebrating his achievement, Ferrell Lee from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) struck a victorious pose upon crossing the finish line. He came in first in the A Division Boys race.
The invaluable presence of friends on the sidelines provided crucial support and motivation to the runners throughout the challenging cross-country race.
Liu Haoyue from Hwa Chong Institution (Tag 5150) came in first for the C DIvision Boys race. Ong Chang Zhi from ACS(I) (Tag 5022) clinched the second spot.
Under the blazing sun, Ethan Hidajat Qin from Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School (Tag 5009) completed the long run, rejoicing in his achievement upon finishing the race.
