37 boys and 30 girls representing 22 schools came together in the Men's Sabre and Women's Foil events for the National School Games Fencing C Division Championships 2024.

Among the fierce exchanges and strategic duels that unfolded, two exceptional fencers emerged triumphant. Soliano Cameron Alexander Tan, representing Singapore Sports School (SSP), showcased his agility and finesse to capture the title in the C Division Men's Sabre Championships. Keagan Wong Zi Xian from Hwa Chong International (HCIS) claimed second place. The battle for third place ended in an exciting tie between Yap Cheng Kwee from Raffles Institution (RI) and Tan Jacob Jae Kijb from St. Joseph's Institution International (SJII).

In the closely contested C Division Women's Foil championships, St Margaret’s School’s (Secondary) (SMSS) Lim Xiao Xuan Jade secured first place. Cheng Yu Han Cleona from Nanyang Girls' High School (NYGH) earned second place in the Women's Foil category. In a notable tie for third place, Marcel Vu Elisa Linh An Nathalie from Christ Church Secondary School (CCSS) and Liu Yihan from School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA) shared the honors.

Their victories not only underscored their individual skill and dedication but also highlighted the competitive spirit and talent nurtured within the National School Games Fencing community.

NYGH’s Cheng Yu Han Cleona clenched her fist in triumph as her foil landed the winning touch.

 

SMSS’s Lim Xiao Xuan Jade (left) and Singapore Chinese Girls School’s (SCGS) Lydia Chew Zi Ning (right) lunged at each other, their foils clashing in a rapid exchange of thrusts.

 

As SSP’s Soliano Cameron Alexander Tan (left) leaped forward, HCIS’ Keagan Wong Zi Xian (right) swiftly dodged his advance, narrowly avoiding a collision.

 

The coach provided HCIS’ Keagan Wong Zi Xian with guidance to refine his technique and strategy for the match.

NYGH coach, Joseph Davin Engert, clapped with pride as his fencer scored a point in the foil match.
