Team Nila, serving as the main volunteer arm for this event, is seeking volunteers to support the Championships. These dedicated individuals will play a vital role in ensuring the success of this international sporting event, which will feature six aquatic sports:
- Swimming
- Water Polo
- Diving
- Artistic Swimming
- Open Water Swimming
- High Diving (Excluded from Masters)

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement for volunteers?
- Minimum age: The minimum age for volunteers is 15 years old.
- If you are between 15 and 17 years old (i.e., under 18), you are eligible to volunteer. However, there is an additional requirement:
- You must complete and submit a parental/guardian consent form before the start of the volunteering shift.
- More details will be shared in the follow-up email on where and when to submit the form.
Do I need to have experience in aquatic sports to volunteer?
While experience in aquatic sports can be beneficial for certain roles, it is not a prerequisite for all volunteer positions at the World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025.
Many of these roles rely more on general skills such as communication, teamwork, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn rather than specific sports knowledge.
Will volunteers receive any training?
Volunteers for the World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025 will receive training to prepare them for their roles.
1. General orientation: A detailed event overview and volunteer roles and responsibilities.
2. Role-specific training: Detailed guide and training on the responsibilities and tasks associated with assigned position.
3. Venue familiarisation: Venue layout and facilities walkthrough before the event.
How many hours will volunteers have to commit?
The volunteer shifts range from 6-8 hours per day, though this can vary depending on the role and the day's events. Volunteers are required to commit at least 4 shifts of at least 6-8 hours.
Volunteers are expected to be able to commit to the full duration of their registered shifts.
Can international applicants apply to volunteer?
The World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025 welcomes international volunteers. Interested applicants can create an account in https://www.volunteer.gov.sg/ to sign up as a volunteer.
- Visa requirements: International volunteers will need to ensure they have the appropriate visa to enter and volunteer in Singapore. The specific type of visa required may depend on your country of origin and the duration of your stay.
- Accommodation and travel: International volunteers will need to arrange and fund their own accommodation and travel to Singapore. The organising committee will not cover these expenses.
- Commitment period: All volunteers are expected to commit to at least 4 volunteering shifts of at least 6 – 8 hours and attend a compulsory training (from April onwards).
- Language skills: A good command of English is expected to ensure effective communication.
- Insurance: Team Nila will be covered under the Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, which includes coverage for death, permanent disability, and medical expenses resulting from accidents that occur during volunteering.
Team Nila HQ will not be liable for insurance claims that happen outside the course of volunteering.
Will accommodation be provided for volunteers?
Accommodation will not be provided by the organising committee. However, volunteers will enjoy a range of benefits and privileges, including:

Will volunteers receive any compensation?
All volunteers for the World Aquatics Championships Singapore 2025 will not receive monetary compensation. However, volunteer will receive various non-monetary benefits and privileges, including:
